Terms & conditions

The terms that apply when Galvitech quotes for, or carries out, work on your equipment. Read them before you drop a device off — they set out what we can be held to, and what we cannot.

Last updated 11 October 2026

1. Quotation validity

Quotes are valid for 7 days from the date of issue and are subject to stock availability. Prices may change without prior notice due to component cost fluctuations.

2. Payment terms

100% pre-payment is required when devices and specialised hardware — including imported parts, Apple products and Apple repairs — are ordered. 100% payment upfront is also required for upgrades. Payment by EFT is preferred.

Nothing is ordered, and no work begins on an order, until the required payment has cleared.

3. Title of goods

Goods remain the sole property of Galvitech until full and final payment for the associated services and hardware has been received.

4. Service and responsibility

Data and software responsibility

The customer is solely responsible for verifying and maintaining a data backup. Galvitech is not liable for any data loss, corruption, or inability to recover data. Software sales are final once activated or delivered.

Diagnostics fee

A fee may be applied if the full quoted repair or service is declined by the customer.

Digitisation services

All fees associated with digitisation are 100% payable in advance, before any work commences.

Scope of work

The quoted labour covers only the specific hardware installation and data migration activities agreed upon. Any additional work requested outside of that defined scope is charged separately at the standard hourly rate.

If opening a machine reveals a fault the quote did not cover, we stop and re-quote before doing anything further.

Weekend work

Labour rates are based on standard business hours, Monday to Friday 08:00–17:00. The workshop is open on Saturday and Sunday 09:00–13:00, and work carried out in those weekend hours attracts an increased rate.

5. Warranty

Repairs

All computer, laptop, MacBook, printer and game console repair work carries a 6-month warranty covering both parts and labour, running from the date the repaired item is collected.

Hardware

New hardware components additionally carry the standard manufacturer's warranty, which is passed through to the client.

Exclusions

Software faults, operating system failures and data loss are not covered by the repair warranty.

6. Collection

Items not collected within 30 days of the job completion notification may be subject to storage fees, or to disposal to recover outstanding costs.

7. Your personal information

How we collect, use, store and share your personal information — including what happens to drop-off booking data — is set out in full in our privacy policy.
