What we fix
The six faults we see most
These account for the overwhelming majority of console repairs we handle in Paarl. If your console is not listed, bring it in anyway — we diagnose before quoting.
Overheating and shutdowns
The PS5 fans up loudly then cuts out, or the Xbox drops power under load. Almost always degraded thermal paste and dust in the heatsink. Full teardown, clean and re-paste.
HDMI port failure
Black screen, no signal, or a picture that flickers or drops. The port itself is usually bent or burned and has to be microsoldered off and a new one fitted. We refer this to our partners.
Disc drive faults
Rattling, grinding, or a console that cannot read discs. On PS4 and Xbox One we can replace or re-align the drive. The PS5 and Series X|S are disc-less by design.
Slow storage and failed updates
Long installs, corrupted downloads, or a console that loops on a system update. A faster internal NVMe drive fixes most of this and gives you more headroom.
Won't power on at all
No lights, no response to any button. Could be a failed power supply, a blown fuse or a board fault. We diagnose in-house and refer board work to our partner specialist.

Every console job runs the same way, and you get a written price before anything is booked in.
1. Tell us what's wrong
WhatsApp us a photo or a short description, or bring the console in. We'll tell you straight away whether it's worth repairing.
2. Get a written quote
We diagnose it and send you a written quote in plain language. Nothing gets booked in, and no work starts, until you say yes.
3. We repair it
Most work is done here at the Paarl workshop — cleaning, thermal service, controller work and storage upgrades. Anything needing microsoldering, including HDMI port replacement and motherboard faults, goes to our partners.
4. Collect with a warranty
6-month warranty on all console work, covering parts and labour. If anything isn't right, bring it back and we sort it.

How much does console repair cost in Paarl?
It depends on the fault and the parts involved, so we quote per job rather than publish a price list. Every quote is written and sent to you before anything is booked in, and no work starts until you approve it. Which consoles do you repair?
We repair Sony PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, Microsoft Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch and Switch OLED. Controllers for all of these are serviced too, including DualSense, DualShock 4, Xbox and Switch Pro controllers.
How long does a console repair take?
Controller stick replacement and deep cleans are usually same-day. Console internal work such as thermal service, HDMI port replacement or an SSD upgrade usually takes one to three working days, depending on parts stock. Board-level motherboard repair typically takes three to five working days.
Do you offer a warranty on console repairs?
Yes. All console repair work carries a 6-month warranty covering both parts and labour, running from the date you collect the console.
My PS5 keeps shutting down from overheating. What is wrong?
Excessive heat is almost always caused by degraded thermal paste and dust build-up inside the heatsink. We do a full teardown, clean the heatsink and fan assembly, and replace the thermal compound with high-grade paste. That restores correct operating temperatures and usually fixes the shutdowns.
Do you repair controllers as well as consoles?
Yes. Stick drift, dead buttons, trigger problems and charging port faults are all handled for DualSense, DualShock 4, Xbox and Switch Pro controllers. Most controller work is same-day, and we quote before we start.
Who does board-level repair and HDMI port replacement?
Anything that needs microsoldering is handled by our partners, who run a dedicated bench for console motherboard work. That covers HDMI port replacement, power rail faults, shorted circuits and liquid damage. We diagnose your console in-house first, then refer the board work with a written quotation before anything proceeds.
Can you recover my games or data from a faulty console?
In most cases yes. If the console still powers on or is recoverable at board level we can back up your game library and save data before the repair. Bring the console in as early as possible so recovery can happen before any part is replaced.
